    How to use these sizes

    Design your screenshots once at the largest size, 1320 × 2868 for iPhone and 2064 × 2752 for iPad, and export a 6.3″ set (1206 × 2622) as well. App Store Connect scales them for older devices, so you rarely need more. If your layout looks different on smaller phones, upload those sizes too.

    On Google Play, 1080 × 1920 portrait (or 1920 × 1080 landscape) is the safe choice: it is valid on every device type and meets the size Google asks for to show your app in recommendations.

    What makes screenshots convert

    Most people decide from the first two or three screenshots, often without reading the description. Show the main benefit first, use short captions, and test variations: Apple has product page optimization and custom product pages, Google Play has store listing experiments.     What size are App Store screenshots in 2026?

    For iPhone, the largest size is 1320 × 2868 px portrait (2868 × 1320 landscape), for 6.9″ iPhones. Apple also lists 1206 × 2622 px (6.3″) as the required iPhone set. For iPad it is 2064 × 2752 px (13″). App Store Connect scales these down for smaller devices.

    Which App Store screenshot sizes are required?

    At least one iPhone screenshot set if your app runs on iPhone, the 13″ iPad set if it runs on iPad, and one set per other platform you support (Mac, Apple TV, Vision Pro, Apple Watch). Uploading 1320 × 2868 and 1206 × 2622 covers every iPhone rule; App Store Connect fills the older sizes from them. From April 2027, apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK also need iPhone Duo screenshots.

    How many screenshots can I upload?

    Up to 10 per device size on the App Store (at least 1), and up to 8 per device type on Google Play (at least 2 in total). Only the first 3 are visible in App Store search results, so put the strongest ones first. More in App Store screenshots.

    What size is the App Store icon?

    One 1024 × 1024 px PNG with no transparency and no rounded corners — iOS adds the mask. Xcode makes all smaller sizes from it. The Google Play icon is 512 × 512 px, a 32-bit PNG up to 1024 KB.

    What size are Google Play screenshots?

    Each side between 320 and 3840 px, with the long side at most twice the short side, as JPEG or 24-bit PNG. To be eligible for promotion, use at least four 16:9 or 9:16 screenshots of 1080 px or more, such as 1080 × 1920 portrait.

    Can screenshots have a transparent background?

    No. Apple rejects screenshots with an alpha channel, even if nothing is transparent, and Google Play asks for JPEG or 24-bit PNG without alpha. The checker above flags this; re-export as JPEG or as PNG without alpha.

    Do my images get uploaded?

    No. The checker reads the size and format of your images in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
